PRINT FUNDRAISER

Welcome to the Print Fundraiser for Steve Marijanich and his family. For those of you who do not know Steve, he is an avid photographer who has been a part of the Perth photographic community for many years. Steve and his wife Kym have two boys, 22-year-old Hayden and 17-year-old Ben.

Steve is one of the true gentle giants and is loved by many, and currently he is battling a nasty stage 4 lung cancer diagnosis. Needless to say, all proceeds from the sale will go to the Marijanich family to provide some additional financial support while Steve undergoes a range of treatments.

This special fund-raising event features works by some of Perth's most awarded and beloved professional photographers. Each of the images in this extraordinary series will add that special feature to the wall of your home, office or business.

THE PRINTS
All prints are professionally prepared and printed on Ilford Smooth Cotton Rag to ensure longevity and authentic colour reproduction. Print sizes (in cms) are listed for each image below and include a 1.5cm border on each edge to allow for matting and framing. Each print is AUD$100 plus postage (AUD$20 postage within Australia). Prints should be delivered within 7-10 days of purchase.

This fundraiser has been created with support from Team Digital, Ilford, Epson and the featured photographers who have donated their works to this fundraiser to support Steve and his family. We hope you'll be able to help and purchase a wonderful print (or two) by some of our noted professionals!

Dogs playing at Taj Mahal, India_AlexCea

TAJ MAHAL DOGS

ALEX CEARNS (40x40cm)

A dog lover her whole life, when animal photographer Alex Cearns OAM saw two young dogs playing next to the iconic Taj Mahal, she had to get the shot. Restricted for time and with the dogs paying her no attention, Alex got down on the ground and waited until the timing was right to show the dogs in the foreground and the Taj Mahal in the background. Her resulting Taj Mahal Dogs image was exhibited in Los Angeles as part of the Day of the Dog festival, and featured in magazines.

Taj Mahal Dogs would be the perfect centrepiece in any animal-lover's home or workplace, and provide a novel and engaging talking point for visitors or friends.

BLACK SWANS

JOHANNES REINHART (40x26.7cm)

Inspired by the pictorialists of the late 19th and early 20th century, Johannes Reinhart photographed these black swans to create a painterly impressionist feel, similar to the work of artists such as Claude Monet.

Johannes is an award-winning photographic artist whose works transform reality into distillations of pure light and movement, where the images are more about projecting an emotional intent into the viewer's imagination, than about representing a real scene or object. This image of black swans was taken with a soft plastic in front of the lens to achieve this effect.

"Black Swans" is photographic artwork that will appeal to the connoisseur of the Arts and is the perfect evocative accompaniment to your home, office or workplace.

CITY BEATS

MARK BRIERLEY (40x30cm)

Mark Brierley, award-winning urban landscape photographer, presents a unique view of our city's geometry, architecture, light and colour. This image comes from Mark's award-winning portfolio which won him the WA Professional Photographer of the Year and the WA Commercial Photographer of the Year.

Mark is a full-time professional photographer who specialises in real-estate and architecture photography, but his true love, as is evident here, is in finding artistry in the urban landscape of Perth.

"City Beats" is an image that will stand out in an apartment or office located in Perth.

Glen-Coe-Chris-Saunders.jpg

GLENCOE, SCOTLAND

CHRIS SAUNDERS (40x40cm)

"As a photographer, being able to experience and connect with a location is a wonderful sensation. It is how I expect a portrait photographer feels when they get under the skin and take the time to understand the character of the person they are photographing."

This image of Glencoe, taken by Chris during his time in Scotland, speaks of the dramatic light, colours and history of the setting. While a beautiful location, Glencoe has prominence in Scottish history, and this piece will hold pride of place in the home of the aficionado of landscapes and the British Isles.

THE CATS OF HYDRA

SENG MAH (40x26.7cm)

Hydra (pronounced Yee-dra) is a Greek Island famous for its stunning scenery, old harbour town and complete lack of motor vehicles. Transport is via donkey or wheelbarrow. The lack of vehicles means that the stray cat population of the island has managed to survive and flourish over the years.

Every morning, cats line up at the old harbour of Hydra in well-formed rows as they wait for the fishing boats to return with the night's catch. Seeing them patiently wait alongside human customers for the catch of the day is a humorous and heart-warming sight. The fishermen of Hydra will occasionally throw morsels to the patient felines, who are all very well-behaved as they do not fight or tussle over food.

"The Cats of Hydra" is a quirky, humorous composition that takes viewers to a unique time and place on the sun-kissed Greek island.

Scott McCook Wave_.jpg

THE WAVE

Scott McCook (40x40cm)

Visual poetry from the air is what Scott McCook's images are all about. He photographs landscapes from thousands of feet up in the air, often with the door open in the aircraft. This is one of Scott's iconic images taken from the air, as breakers curl around the coast of Western Australia forming a magical spiral of a wave.

Scott's images have won him worldwide acclaim and have won him many awards, including Gold at the Australian Professional Photography Awards and the top prize in the International Photography Awards as Fine Art Photographer of the Year.

Scott's image of "The Wave" would be the perfect talking point in your home or office.

RED OCTOBER

Brian Kinson (40x16.7cm)

If you're looking for wall art that's iconic and stunning, look no further than this image of one of WA's most iconic jetties by South West landscape photographer, Brian Kinson.

Stretching out 1.8 kilometres into peaceful Geographe Bay, the Busselton Jetty  is hard to miss due to its sheer size and scale.

This image of WA's most famous jetty taken during a stunning sunset will add a dash of local colour to your wall; its panorama layout mirrors Western Australia's vastness - a land of stunning coasts and brilliant sunsets.

Standing Proud Web.jpg

STANDING PROUD

Aaron Dowling (40x26.7cm)

The Canadian Rockies are often thought as epic mountains with turquoise streams and lakes. With an abundance of wildlife, it’s the bears, moose and elk that are most often the subject of our photography, and it’s easy to see why. In winter the lakes, river and waterfalls freeze, the bears go into hibernation and most wildlife slows down conserving their energy.

The western foothills of the Canadian Rockies are a place synonymous with cowboys, ranches, rolling hills and wild horses, not well known to visitors. They look a little more rugged that a typical horse, but are just as playful, and have a resilience about them which shines through in their stature and eyes.

This stunning print of two majestic horses from the western foothills will be an incredible centrepiece for any wall.

THE WOOD

Leah Kennedy (40x22.5cm)

Part of the award winning Illustrative portfolio for WAEPPA 2019. The Wood represents new directions in Leah Kennedy's creative works, exploring and experimenting with different techniques.

This image explores the landscape around us but through various methods transforms it into an unseen and surreal world, making the familiar unfamiliar.

The Wood is an image for the discerning eye, one which appreciates photography as artistic expression, or the personality who enjoys having elements of the fantastical, artistic and creative in their home or workplace.

CREST

Sarah Adams (40x40cm)

“Crest” captures a rare moment with an endangered Red-tailed Cockatoo. This magnificent species can often be seen soaring over the hills of Perth, but their population is in decline. In this image juxtaposes the soft beauty of the male’s crest with the hardness of the metal frame, representing the threat that surrounds these gorgeous birds.

Sarah Adams is a multi-award-winning photographer from Perth, Western Australia. She was named the 2017 and 2018 WA Portrait Photographer of the Year and one of three finalists for Australian Creative Photographer of the Year. The image “Crest” was awarded gold at both the Western Australian Professional Photography Awards and the Australian Professional Photography Awards.

GLOSSY IBIS

Diana Andersen (40x40cm)

Most Ibis species are considered plain, even ugly in the case of the Australian White Ibis that frequents rubbish tips and has earned the nickname ‘tip turkey’. Glossy Ibis such as this one are viewed more sympathetically but in comparison to the spectacular beauty the bird world can produce they are plain nonetheless. To someone who views them in passing wading along the edge of a lake they appear to be a plain brown bird. Their plumage is shiny, hence the name Glossy Ibis. However, their plumage does possess hidden subtle beauty which, by chance, I was able to capture in this photograph.

The colour blue in feathers is not a result of pigment but instead is generated by light interacting with a feather’s structure. Combinations of colours that include blue are created by a combination of light and pigment. This young bird was in the process of moulting and lifted his new feathers to preen at just the right angle for the light to reflect this beautiful display of purple and greens in way that we are usually not lucky enough to see.
